In terms of looks and build, the Razer Leviathan V2 is smaller compared to other typical soundbars while still having a full-range audio system. It is compact and minimalist but still maintains that signature Razer gamer aesthetic.

It has the Razer logo front and center, physical buttons for controls, ports at the back, removable rubber feet, and an RGB light strip.

The RGB light strip has 18 lighting zones that can be controlled via the Razer Synapse app for PC or Razer Audio smartphone app. Here, you can adjust the brightness, change lighting effects with Chroma Studio, and activate Dynamic Gaming Lighting. However, we prefer the RGB lighting to be brighter since it is only enjoyable if you play in the dark.

THX Spatial Audio was a feature that was previously exclusive to Razer's higher-end audio products. It mimics a 7.1 surround sound system allowing you to pinpoint sound sources in the game. The Razer Leviathan V2's speaker setup consists of two full-range drivers, two passive radiators, two tweeters, and a down-firing subwoofer, which should produce a wide soundstage. This will allow you to hear directional footsteps and sound cues to help you win games.

The soundbar's design includes detachable feet that allow customers to modify the height and angle to their liking. The soundbar is small enough to fit under a monitor, while the subwoofer is more suited to a side position. It's larger and weighs about twice as much as the soundbar.

The THX Spatial Audio effect was done well giving a really good simulation of 3D audio. We were just looking for more in terms of how tight the audio sounds. But, casual listeners will be impressed by the sound quality while picky audiophiles will find it a bit lacking.

The subwoofer is a separate device that connects to the soundbar through a dedicated wire. For gaming, movies, music, and more, Razer promises full-range and high-fidelity audio. THX Spatial Audio should further add to the experience by offering surround sound.

The vocals can come out clear in Acoustic tracks but can be overpowered by the bass on bass-heavy songs i.e RnB and Hip Hop. Even the EQ on the Razer Synapse can do very little to balance this out. Distortion can also be heard at above 60 percent volume as well.

For casual listeners, it is a great-sounding soundbar but we still feel that Razer could have done better. It could have included Hi-Res audio certification for better all-around sound quality.

It can easily connect via Bluetooth 5.2 which makes it easy to pair to your phone or PC. It has no noticeable delay. Though, we still think that connection is way better via the USB cable.

Quick thoughts

The Razer Leviathan V2 could be an option if you are looking for a gaming-focused soundbar.

Even if it is only using virtual surround, it works as mentioned earlier and that could help you win some games.

If you are looking for an all-around speaker, look elsewhere though.
