HUAWEI joins ITU'a Partner2Connect digital alliance!

At HUAWEI's "Connectivity+: Innovate for Impact" 2022 Sustainability Forum, Chairman Liang Hua made the announcement. In the age of the digital economy, the event examined how ICT innovation may unleash the social and economic potential of connectedness and promote sustainability. Senior officials from the ITU and United Nations spoke at the event.

HUAWEI commitment to the International Telecommunication Union's Partner2Connect digital alliance will bring connectivity to over 120 million people in remote areas in more than 80 countries by 2025. The United Nations calls for "multi-stakeholder partnerships" of policymakers, the private sector, academia, and civil society to bridge the digital divide between third-world countries and the rest of the world.

To assist the cacao growers, HUAWEI Philippines has launched the Bohol Cacao Livelihood Recovery and Rehabilitation Program in collaboration with regional organizations.

Cacao growing is one of the main sources of income for farmers in Bohol, one of the Philippines' largest cacao producers, but over 20,000 cacao trees were damaged by Typhoon Odette last year. The farmers will get two days of training in cacao rehabilitation and restoration, integrated pest and disease control, cacao harvesting, and post-harvest care in order to support and assist stabilize the industry in Bohol. In order to help with cocoa inventory and traceability, QR Code will also be used. Using the QR Code, they can quickly learn about and monitor the health and status of cacao trees.

In Q1 2022, Singapore had the fastest median 5G upload speeds in Southeast Asia, followed by Thailand and the Philippines, with median download speeds of 207.27 Mbps and 163.51 Mbps, respectively, according to a report published by the GSMA in July and based on data from Speedtest Intelligence.

According to HUAWEI, connectivity will assist everyone enters the digital age and gives them access to better products, services, and business prospects in addition to serving as a convenient tool for communications. Further social and economic progress will result from this.

Innovative technologies like cloud and AI are enabling people in rural and distant regions to enjoy the comfort of a digital world as ICT infrastructure continues to advance. The "Everything as a Service" concept was suggested by HUAWEI Cloud, which also made HUAWEI's more than 30 years of technical know-how and experience with digital transformation available through cloud services. As a result, accessing HUAWEI's cloud-based digital infrastructure capabilities is now as simple, affordable, and sustainable as using water and electricity.

For balanced growth in remote locations, digital transformation, digital talent, and new business models are all crucial. HUAWEI earlier stated that by 2025, the business would collaborate with partners to enable 500 million people to benefit from digital financial services and 500,000 individuals to benefit from inclusive education thanks to better ICT infrastructure.
