HUAWEI ICT Competition 22-23 winners announced!

With the recently completed national round of the HUAWEI ICT Competition 2022-2023, the company celebrates the best and brightest ICT Talents from the Philippines. The winning teams in this year's national round were from De La Salle University and the University of the East-Caloocan. They will represent the Philippines in the upcoming Asia-Pacific and Global Finals Rounds next year.

The De La Salle University team was named the competition's network track champion by HUAWEI Philippines. The DLSU team, which included Elmark Joseph Corpus, Martin, Adrian Enghoy, and Francis John Magallanes, was coached by Dr. Melchizedek Alipio. 

While Dr. Nelson Rodelas, students Jerwin Christian Samala, Angelo Laguinlin, Ralph Khen Adrian Cuevas led the University of East Caloocan to victory in the cloud track division.

The University of the East-Caloocan and the University of San Carlos was the first runners-up for the network category and the cloud track, respectively. Karl Jensen Cayme, Vince Andrei Retutal, and Miguel Edwin Salubre were the participants from the University of San Carlos. The University of the East Caloocan team is led by Dr. Alexis John M. Rubio and consists of Royvee A. Magno, Kim F. Hernandez, and Charles Kendrick S. Magalued.

With 350 applicants, the Huawei ICT Competition Asia Pacific—Philippines 2022-2023 began on October 18. However, only 120 qualified for the preliminary rounds. In the end, 39 teams in total qualified for the national finals, which were held on November 18, 2022.

The event's theme, "Connection, Glory, Future," aims to develop young ICT talent to propel future technological advancements and create global opportunities for growth and the establishment of an extraordinary digital economy.

In 2019, HUAWEI ICT Academy launched with ten Philippine universities as partners. Over 16,000 Filipino students may now take advantage of the company's ICT training thanks to HUAWEI Philippines' establishment of 67 academies, with over 2,000 students receiving certification.
