The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) says they prioritize "passengers' safety" and would rather secure the aircraft on the ground to prevent aerial accidents.
This is a temporary situation, and we will take all necessary steps to restore normal schedules and bring diverted flights back to their original destination as soon as possible. As always, safety is our top priority, and we seek your kind understanding and patience as PAL works with the authorities and our service partners to make the best of a challenging situation, said Philippine Airlines
The agency and the local airlines also sincerely apologized to the affected passengers and assured them that the current problem is being fixed.
The MIAA Crisis Management Team has been activated bringing together key aviation and airport agencies for a multi-discipline approach to cushion the impact of the incident.
