Apple M3 chipset details revealed!

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg mentioned in his recent Power On newsletter that Apple is speeding up the testing of the M3 chip.

According to data gathered by an App Store developer, at least one version of the new platform was found with a 12-core CPU, 18-core GPU, and 36 GB RAM.

Gurman suspects that Macs equipped with the new 3nm chip will be available by either late 2023 or early 2024.

The M3 CPU will continue to include six performance cores and six energy-efficient cores. The rise is comparable to the M1 generation to the M2, which ought to be sufficient to stimulate demand. Mark Gurman recounted that the Mac sales dropped by 31 percent just last quarter which falls short of analysts' expectations.

Meanwhile, the journalist also stated that the M3 Pro and M3 Max versions will have similar games (versus the M1 to M2 series) and the latter could feature a 14-core CPU and 40-core GPU while the ultra variant should have twice those aforementioned hardware.

However none of these are official for now, there should be more details that will come to light this coming WWDC next month.

What do you guys think?
