Epson: Don't settle for less, be sure and buy genuine inks

Over the past year, Epson implemented a campaign that focused on promoting the use of only its genuine inks for its products to fight the fake ones.

While the "Don't Fall For Fakes" campaign and the call for customers to only purchase boxed Epson inks sealed with its new hologram stickers were a success, another problem came out.

But, many users have said that compatible inks are better.

Indeed, these compatible inks are cheaper than the genuine Epson inks and they do work, but they may still cause users problems in the future.

Note that compatible inks do not undergo Epson's rigorous testing or certifying process. Thus, their performance cannot be guaranteed by Epson.

Moreover, Epson said that we should make sure to look for its new hologram stickers with temperature-sensitive and light-sensitive features to ensure that you are buying genuine Epson ink.

A new app is coming...

To help Epson users make sure that what they are using are legitimate inks, Epson will be launching a new app sometime in June this year.

Through this, users will be able to verify if the ink they are or will be using is indeed a genuine Epson product.

According to Epson, this is user-friendly and easy to navigate. Upon opening the app, the user will just need to scan the QR code printed on the new hologram sticker on the box to verify if the product is genuine.

One just has to scan the new hologram sticker on the ink box to verify the product.

After that, the app will inform the user if it is genuine or not genuine.

Quick thoughts

At first, you may think that you may have saved some cash with "cheaper compatible" inks. But, that might not be the case.

Our suggestion? Be sure and don't settle for less.

By making sure that your ink is genuinely Epson, you will be able to save your precious time and money from any possible problem in the future.

What do you think about this?
