MediaTek shares tips when buying Chromebooks!

MediaTek says, knowing which CPU is used in a Chromebook is crucial as different types of processors have distinct effects per device. Additionally, selecting the best Chromebooks for your school has an impact on both teachers' and students' learning and teaching experiences.

Below are the 6 tips MediaTek shared when choosing:

1. Battery life - the tech firm says that devices with the longest battery life have a pivotal role particularly when you are on the go. Chromebooks that can go the distance provide portable computing experiences with higher engagement, collab, and safety. Some of the educators the firm met at ISTE mentioned that they constantly monitor the battery on their student's devices so they don't shut down when there's a discussion. Chromebooks with up to 15-hour juice or more take away those worries from both.

2. Multitasking Capabilities - A Chromebook must use an octa-core architecture to provide fast processing, a responsive system, multitasking, and efficient performance. This will result in increased productivity for users who always use video conferencing, file sharing, and educational apps simultaneously and seamlessly.

3. Environmental Sustainability - Devices with all-day battery life and incredibly efficient performance use less power and are therefore more environmentally friendly. This is crucial in situations where there are several devices being deployed at once. It is vital to remember that on your purchase decisions reducing the carbon footprint on Earth is the only way to save the planet. Click here to learn more.

4. Security - MediaTek mentioned that you should also factor in the safeness of your data. Chromebooks with the verified boot, virus protection, and multi-user support can protect your or your school's data against malware and ransom attacks.

5. Size and weight - This is also crucial as devices that are less heavier provide less strain when carried either on the back or hand.

6. Noise and temperature levels - Silent, fan-free Chromebooks aid in student concentration, keep cool and promote greater engagement and reduced stress.

With those features mentioned, MediaTek says that is possible to achieve with the recently announced Kompanio 520 processor which features elevated entry-level performance bringing up to 80 percent uplift in single-core performance and 15 percent for multi-core. Meanwhile, it brings 20 percent improvements in the GPU segment versus the predecessor.

Lastly, the chipmaker said that brands like Acer, ASUS, HP, and Lenovo are the Chromebooks that utilize the Kompanio 520 processor.
