Sony and Qualcomm extends their partnership!

The news came in after Qualcomm confirms it in their press release. According to the chip maker, this is a "multi-year" deal and will cover flagship, high-end, and mid-range devices.

It also appears that Sony won't be releasing "low-end" tier phones as they were not mentioned. It seems they will just maintain its current product line just as before.

The press release from the chipmaker says "Joint efforts will focus on the integration of Qualcomm Technologies' advanced Snapdragon mobile platforms into Sony's future smartphone lines, providing users with enhanced functionality, higher performance, and more immersive user experiences".

Xperia 1 V which is the brand's current flagship with SD8G2 has been very well received by consumers. We look forward to continuing our work with Qualcomm Technologies to bring premium and compelling experiences on future devices with Snapdragon chips. We are always listening to our customers to create high-tech products that will meet or exceed the consumer's expectations, and we trust that Qualcomm Technologies will help us continue to drive the industry forward, says head of Sony's mobile communication arm, Tsutomu Hamaguchi
