Gaming-focused budget phone TECNO POVA 5 is now official in PH, price starts at PHP 7,999!

TECNO on schedule today formally introduced the new POVA 5 phones in the Philippines.

The device is available in an 8GB/128GB model (PHP 7,999 SRP) and a beefier 8GB/256GB edition (PHP 8,499).

The newly launched POVA 5 Series in the Philippines comes with a variety of customized Free Fire features that fans are sure to enjoy! It’s also packed with a range of gamer-friendly specs such as a 6,000mAh Battery, 45W Smart Charge, 6.78" FHD+ Display, and a 120Hz High Refresh Rate to ensure an unparalleled gaming and entertaining experience for every Filipinos.

Key specs and features of TECNO POVA 5

To recap, the POVA 5 is boasting a futuristic-looking "Turbo Mecha Design" with the so-called "3D mecha cover" inspired by a "powerful robot armor" in Amber Gold, Hurricane Blue, and Mecha Black colorways.

In front, it is boasting a 6.78-inch BIG display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother animations, 240Hz touch sampling rate for better touch response, and crisp enough FHD+ 2460 x 1080 resolution.

Under the hood, you get a 2.2GHz 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 octa-core processor with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU designed to handle even some demanding games at medium settings. It is paired with 8GB RAM, 8GB Extended RAM (a total of 16GB RAM), and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.

The company claims that its Large Memory allows up to 25 caches in the background without lags and enables a 39 percent improved average app start-up time as well as the AI-powered Aurora Engine that can launch apps at "lightning speed".

For battery, it uses a large 6,000mAh battery capacity with USB-C 45W fast charging.

According to TECNO, its 45W Smart Charge tech can power the phone from 0 to 50 percent in just 21 minutes and 100 percent in 60 minutes making it 25 percent faster than the previous POVA Series. Its battery can also last for a full day of uninterrupted play on a single charge, 9 hours of continuous calling, 18 hours of browsing, and over 14 hours of video screening.

It even has a 10W Reverse Charging feature that allows the smartphone to be used as a power bank to charge other devices. 

In Super Power Saving Mode, the device also has the Battery Lab 3.0 tech to maximize its battery further.

To keep its performance in check even while playing games, TECNO added a Vapor Chamber Cooling system with a 0749mm2 Ultra Large Heat Dissipation Area.

For cameras, you will find a 50MP main shooter paired with an AI lens for depth sensing. It also has Dual View video for vlogging, Sky Shop to magically edit the sky in a tap, Portrait Beauty, and HDR mode.

Moreover, it uses a Dual Speaker (stereo) setup with DTS Audio and Hi-Res wired and wireless certifications and Z-axis linear motor + Hard Gyroscope for "realistic" vibrations.
