TECNO POVA 5 x Free Fire Review - For the win at PHP 8K?

In partnership with Garena Free Fire, TECNO recently launched a special edition TECNO POVA 5 in the Philippines.

The device only has a starting price of just PHP 7,999 (8GB/128GB) up to PHP 8,499 (8GB/256G), but it is sporting specs that punch above its price point.

The box

In particular, the handset carries a futuristic 3D Mecha Design, a 6.78-inch LCD 120Hz screen with FHD+ resolution, a 6nm Helio G99 chip, Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, 6,000mAh battery with USB-C 45W fast charging, and 10W reverse charging.

It also has a 50MP + AI depth camera and an 8MP selfie camera.

The handset also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio, Z-axis linear moto, and even a Vapor Chamber Cooling.

For the packaging, you get a Free Fire Gift Card and a fully themed box.

Verdict

Accessing this TECNO POVA 5 Free Fire wasn't hard for us as it is a winner for its specs that is just less than PHP 10,000 matched with pretty good actual performance for the price.

Its 128GB variant has an SRP of PHP 7,999 while the 256GB version is available for PHP 8,499.

This device is like a high-budget smartphone composed of a large FHD+ 120Hz display, a large battery with 45W fast charging, dual stereo speakers, NFC support, and of course, gaming-friendly performance.

I say gaming-friendly as it is great for casual gamers on a budget budget.

If you are a serious gamer, this might not be the one for you as usually you need a more expensive yet more powerful phone for that.

But all in all, for the price, this TECNO POVA 5 is a bang for your buck. 

My minor comment is hopefully the brand can consider adding a 5G connectivity as it is starting to be more mainstream even in the budget segment.
