HUAWEI Mate X5 foldable launched: LTPO screens, Lingxi antennas, IPX8, 66W charging
HUAWEI introduced its next-generation large form factor foldable smartphone with two LTPO screens, a 50MP XMAGE camera, and Lingxi antennas.

Refreshed Mate X3?
Alongside the announcement of the HUAWEI Mate 60 Pro+, the Chinese giant also unveiled the successor to the Mate X3. The new Mate X5 adds several under-the-hood upgrades with little change to the exterior.

It features a 6.4-inch 3D four-curved LTPO cover screen with a 2,504 x 1,080 resolution, a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, a 1,440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and up to 300Hz touch sampling rate. Inside is the 7.85-inch LTPO inner flexible folding screen with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, a 1,440Hz HF PWM dimming and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The screen outer screen is basalt-tempered Kunlun glass protected.
GSMArena claims that the foldable is expected to be carrying the 7nm Kirin 9000s SoC, up to 12GB/16GB RAM, 512GB/1TB storage, NM memory card expansion and a 5,060mAh battery with 66W fast wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and a 7.5W reverse wired charging.
At the back are the 50MP f/18 hyper-perceptual camera, a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP f/3.4 5x telephoto camera with OIS and an LED flash. It is capable of 50x digital zoom.
On the punch hole of the two screens is an 8MP f/2.4 selfie camera.

It connects wirelessly through WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC. It supports GPS (L1 + L5), AGPS, GLONASS, Beidou, GALILEO, and QZSS.
The phone measures 156.9 x 72.4 x 11.08mm when folded or 156.9 x 141.5 x 5.3mm when unfolded. It weighs 243 grams.
Running the show is HarmonyOS 4.0 and it will come in either Feather White, Feather Black, Feather Gold or Green Mountain.
Currently, there is no price yet for the foldable but it is available for pre-order in China with a CNY 1,000 deposit.
There is also no information yet on whether the foldable will arrive in international markets.
