Higher than Pro?

HUAWEI recently unveiled the Mate 60 and Mate 60 Pro which featured a unique triple punch hole in front and a large black ring camera module.

In front is the 6.82-inch curved LTPO screen with a 2,720 x 1,260 resolution, a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and a 1,440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

The new Pro+ is based on the Mate 60 Pro but with select upgraded components. GSMArena expects it to come with a 7nm Kirin 9000s SoC with comparable performance with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888.

Alongside the SoC are 16GB RAM, 512GB/1TB storage, NM memory card expansion, and a 5,000mAh battery with 88W fast wired charging, 50W fast wireless charging and 20W reverse wireless charging via USB-C 3.1 Gen 1.

At the back of the phone is the camera module made up of a 48MP f/1.4-4.0 main camera with OIS, a 48MP f/3.0 90mm equiv periscope camera with macro and OIS, and a 40MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera with an LED flash. It is capable of 3.5x to 100x zoom.

In front is the 13MP f/2.4 selfie camera with two 3D ToF depth cameras.

It connects wirelessly through WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2 (LDAC, L2HC) and NFC. The official spec sheet does not mention 4G or 5G. Like the other new Mate smartphones, it supports two-way texting over the BeiDou network. Unlike the rest of the Mates, it can do voice calls over the Tiantong satellite. However, there needs to be details on whether this service needs a subscription.

It is running on HarmonyOS 4.0 and it measures 163.65 x 79 x 8.1mm. It weighs 225 grams and will come in either a black or cream colourway. It is IP68 water and dust resistance rated.

The phone supports GPS (L1+L5 dual band), GLONASS, Beidou, GALILEO, and QZSS. It features 3D face recognition, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and a Camera laser focus sensor.

As of September 8, 2023, there is no price for the Mate 60 Pro+ but customers in China can pre-order the device by depositing CNY 1,000. It is expected to arrive in stores on October 9, 2023.

GSMArena reports that leaks have claimed that the Mate60 Pro+ will be priced at around CNY 9,000 (around PHP 69.5K).
