ICYMI: Sony Xperia 5 V launched: 120Hz display, SD8G2, and 52MP main camera!

Tech September has brought so many interesting gadgets in the first week and one of them is the Sony Xperia 5V.

The phone's color choices

Sony Xperia 5 V launched!

The smartphone still bears the familiar or should we say traditional bar-type design of the Xperias.

At the front, it uses a 6.1-inch Full HD+ 2520 x 1080 resolution OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support, 21:9 aspect ratio, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

The phone's display

Inside, it is equipped with a 3.2GHz 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 octa-core processor, 8GB RAM, and 128GB expandable storage.

For the battery, it has a 5,000mAh capacity that charges using 30W USB-C power brick or 18W wireless speeds.

The cameras

When it comes to the cameras, 52MP f/1.9 primary sensor + 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide shooter with 123-degree FOV. As for selfies, it uses a 12MP f/2.0 sensor.

Other features are an IP65/68 rating for water resistance, a side fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and full-stage stereo speakers.

For connectivity, it has 5G, 4G, WiFi 6 (2.4GHz/5GHz) Bluetooth LE, NFC, and dual SIM.

As for OS, the phone runs Android 13.

It is currently available in Europe and the UK. Sony hasn't mentioned a PH availability yet so stay tuned.
