HUAWEI books yearly growth

According to CounterPoint research, the global smartphone market booked a decline anew during the period, with other smartphone manufacturers taking a toll.

While Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo continued to be the top-performing companies—they witnessed a drop in shipment in the third quarter, the report said. Except for Apple and OPPO, the rest of the smartphone brands had double-digit declines.

HUAWEI and its former smartphone unit HONOR, however, recorded yearly growth in the July-September period. CounterPoint research even noted that they were the only brands that saw higher figures.

CounterPoint research said that the HUAWEI Mate 60 series was the one driving the company’s growth in China. Honor, meanwhile, has been seeing strong momentum in the global market.
