Cities across China to get first dibs on Xiaomi SU7

According to a translated social media post by Xiaomi, its Speed Ultra 7 (SU7) will be officially launched on March 28.

The tech giant also said that deliveries will be done as soon as the product is launched.

Reservations can be made in 59 stores across 29 cities in China.

Last year, Xiaomi introduced the SU7—its first electric car powered by HyperOS.

It is a sedan in partnership with state-owned Beijing Automotive available in Aqua Blue, Mineral Gray, and Verdant Green colorways.

The vehicle's batteries are from China's Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. and BYD Co. depending if it'll use a single or dual motor configuration.

It is expected to make the best of its shared operating system (HyperOS) with the company's popular phones.

Xiaomi said its ambition is to make a car as good as Porsche and Tesla.

CEO Lei Jun previously said that its own EV is designed to rival Porsche's Taycan Turbo in terms of performance and the Telsa Model S in technology features.

The company claims that SU7 is a "performance beast." One of its motors comes with 21,000 revolutions a minute which is said to be higher than its competitors.

The Xiaomi executive has said that the company's ambition is to become one of the top 5 automakers in the world in the next 15 to 20 years.

The official price tag and other availability details will be revealed on its launch date.
