Designed to encourage "real-life" connections

It is a dumb flip phone-looking device designed for those who want to disconnect from their smartphones, strip down distractions, and encourage them to enjoy better real-life connections on nights out.

According to its research, 90 percent of people admit to habitually scrolling on their smartphones on night outs.

The device features a transparent casing and holographic stickers drawing inspiration from the mobile phones of the early 2000s.

HMD said that with the "The Boring Phone," users cannot download social media and other apps. But, it has a week of standby time and up to 20 hours of talk time thanks to its 1,500mAh battery.

It also has a 2.8-inch QVGA internal screen, a 1.77-inch external display, 128MB storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot, and call and text functions via 2G, 3G, and 4G.

It even has an FM Radio and a flashlight as well as a "Snake-looking" icon suggesting that it has the legendary Snake game from old Nokia phones.

The device weighs just 123 grams.

The device was first unveiled last April 18 at the Milan Design Week.

There is no word if it will be available in the Philippines yet and its local pricing.
