MediaTek Dimensity 7300 and 7300X launched: 4nm, WiFi 6E, 200MP camera, 2X AI performance

MediaTek has introduced the latest member of its 4nm-based ARM processors that promises up to 25 percent better power consumption.

Affordable mid-range 4nm chips?

The two new chips are the successors of last year's MediaTek Dimensity 7050. Both chips are very similar however the Dimensity 7300X is designed for flip-style foldable devices with dual displays.

Both octa-core processors come with 4 2.5GHz Cortex-A78 and 4 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 processors. Alongside are the ARM Mali-G615 MC2 GPU and the 6th Generation APU 655. 

The chips support LPDDR5/LPDDR4X RAM (up to 6,400Mbps), UFS 3.1, 120Hz WFHD+ displays, 144Hz FHD+ displays, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC.

They are also equipped with the Imagiq 950 ISP that comes with 200MP main camera support, 12-bit HDR-ISP, Hardware Face Detection, Hardware MCNR (noise reduction) 4K video HDR, AWB, AF Video EIS Dual simultaneous video, capture All-Pixel AF.

MediaTek also says that it will come with Live focus photo performance is up to 1.3x faster and photo remastering is up to 1.5X faster than the previous generation. MediaTek APU 655 also promises twice the AI performance over the Dimensity 7050.

The Taiwanese manufacturer has yet to reveal which phone that will arrive in first, but FoneArena speculates that the yet-to-be announced Motorola razr 50 should arrive with the Dimensity 7300X this coming June.
