SHARP introduced its latest mid-range offering featuring ultra-high refresh rate displays and even Leica-branded cameras.
The SHARP Aquos R9 arrived in a simple and neat design with a large camera bump. This phone comes in two color choices namely White or Green.
At the front, it boasts the 6.5-inch Pro-IGZO OLED panel with FHD+ resolution, LTPO 1-240Hz refresh rate, 1,500 nits of max brightness, and support for Dolby Vision.
Inside, it sports the 2.8GHz 4nm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 octa-core chip with Adreno GPU, 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB storage.
For battery, it has a 5,000mAh capacity although the brand didn't reveal the charging speed for this device.
For cameras, the phone uses a 50MP f/1.9 1/1.55-inch primary shooter and, a Leica Hektor lens with a 23mm equivalent focal length. + 50MP f/2.2 122-degree ultra-wide with 13mm equivalent sensor. For selfies, it is equipped with another 50MP f/2.2 sensor.
Other features noted are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, IPX5, IPX6, IPX8 rating, MIL-STD-810G military-grade rating, and dissipation system for cooling.
Connectivity features are 5G, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and dual SIM (nano+eSIM).
For OS, the phone runs Android 14 out of the box.
Apparently, SHARP didn't mention regarding its price details but it will be available in Japan sometime in mid-July.
