HUAWEI FreeBuds 6i launched in PH: 11mm driver, Hi-Res certified, ANC, PHP 3,999 SRP

Tech giant HUAWEI earlier revealed the official suggested retail price of the new FreeBuds 6i.

The new HUAWEI FreeBuds 6i is the company's newest budget earbuds equipped with plenty of premium features at a pocket-friendly price point.

To recap, the device features an IP54-rated dust and water resistance body and an 11mm quad-magnet dynamic driver that is said to be 50 percent more powerful than the previous generation.

HUAWEI also ensured that the buds have Hi-Res certification making the device support even LDAC lossless codecs for better audio transmission for better audio quality aside from the usual AAC and SBC codecs.

The device also has skin-friendly liquid silicone eartips for better comfort. HUAWEI said that they conducted simulations on more than 10,000 ear samples to ensure good overall fit and comfort for most users.

The device also comes with 3x microphones for better calls and recordings as well as the "intelligent" dynamic ANC 3.0 technology tuned for 32 scenarios.

HUAWEI said that the buds monitor noise every 2.6μs and adjust the parameters within about a second to seamlessly optimize noise cancellation for the surroundings. Its average full-range ANC is up to 27dB with a 5kHz ultra-wide ANC frequency. According to the company, it has a 100 percent noise cancellation capability improvement over the previous generation FreeBuds 5i even if the older device has up to 42dB ANC.

 

Moreover, the device has a new noise cancellation algorithm called the Intelligent Dynamic ANC that analyzes external noises and adjusts the noise cancellation automatically. The new buds include a noise-filtering chamber that efficiently filters mid and high-frequency voices and sounds.

It connects via Bluetooth 5.3 with dual connection for HUAWEI devices. It works on EMUI 10 and older as well as Android and iOS devices. Android users may also download AI Life from the App Gallery for additional control choices like noise cancellation type and gesture controls.

In addition, it has a larger battery at 510mAh, a 25 percent increase from last year's version. Meanwhile, the capacity per earbud remains 55mAh each. With ANC off, it can last up to 8 hours per earbud. With ANC on, it can last for about 5 hours. A 10-minute charge also provides up to 4 hours of use.
