The world's first consumer-ready tri-fold foldable smartphone is coming?
HUAWEI Consumer Business Group chairman Richard Yu was recently pictured using a tri-fold foldable smartphone on a plane ride somewhere.
Based on the image, the device is quite big and definitely larger than usual foldable phones when fully unfolded making it a possible tablet replacement. There are 3 creases suggesting that it has 2 hinges. The device shown has a top punch-hole on the leftmost part of the folding display.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the device is about 10-inch big and it is expected to be powered by a Kirin 9 Series platform.
Kirin 9 Series chips are scheduled to launch earlier than the Mate70.
Since Richard Yu already has the phone in his hands, it means that this device is coming very soon.
There are no other details about the phone yet. Expect more details to be revealed in the coming days.
Currently, HUAWEI is the world's largest foldable smartphone maker according to Counterpoint Research.
