Improving operations

According to a report by AFP, Samsung Electronics has revealed plans to cut jobs in its Asian operations.

A company representative told AFP the “adjustments,” which include job cuts, will affect Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Samsung Electronics said the "routine workforce adjustments" aim "to improve operational efficiency."

The company has yet to set a target number for specific posts, but Bloomberg has reported that about 10 percent could be affected.

There are no details regarding this development’s impact in the Philippines.

Samsung Electronics employs over 267,800 workers, with over half abroad.

The Korean tech giant saw its fastest growth since 2010, driven by the rebound in chip prices and the continued growth in demand for generative AI.
