Google introduces the Pixel 9a as an addition to the Pixel 9 Series. This will be the most affordable in the lineup.

The phone's design and colors

Google Pixel 9a is now official

It brings the traditional Pixel look and is available in Obsidian, Porcelain, Peony, and Iris colorways. It also sports a sleek and high-quality design with rounded edges, a matte back, and a polished aluminum frame. Unlike previous models, there are no camera bumps. Additionally, the phone now has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, an upgrade from the IP67 rating of the 8a.

In front, the Pixel 9a uses a 6.3-inch OLED with FHD+ 2424 x 1080 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR, 2,700 nits peak brightness, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

Inside, it uses the Google Tensor G4 with Titan M2 security chip paired with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM, 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage, 5,100mAh battery with 23W wired USB-C fast charging, and 7.5W wireless charging.

For cameras, it uses 48MP f/1.7 1/1.95-inch Samsung GN8 main camera with OIS + 13MP f/2.2 Sony IMX712 120-degree ultra-wide camera with PDAF. On the selfie side, it uses 13MP f/2.2 Sony IMX712 sensor as well.

Other features noted are stereo speakers and 2x microphones.

For connectivity, it has 5G SA/NSA, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 6E (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 6, GPS, and NFC.

On the software side, the phone runs Android 15 out of the box and comes with up to 7 years of OS, security, and feature drop updates. 

Finally, it also brings AI features like Add Me, Best Take, Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, Audio Magic Eraser, Night Sight, Astrophotography, and a new Panorama with Night Sight.

US Price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

Google Pixel 9a 128GB - USD 499 (around PHP 28.5K)
Google Pixel 9a 256GB - USD 599 (around PHP 34.2K)

The Pixel 9a will be available in the US starting in April. Unfortunately, it still won't be available in the Philippines.
