Based on the IDC 2025Q1 data, HUAWEI captured more than 3/4 (76.6 percent, 2.842 million units) of the foldable market share in China, a big jump from its 48.6 percent market share last Q4 of 2024. These numbers represent a 53.1 percent growth.

The competition? HONOR is at number 2 with 9.1 percent, followed by OPPO with 7.1 percent. Xiaomi has 2.6 percent of the pie while the South Korean brand Samsung only has 2.4 percent. The rest of the brands, including vivo, only have a 2.3 percent market share.

Top 5 foldable smartphone brands in China 2025Q1

  • HUAWEI - 76.6 percent market share
  • HONOR - 9.1 percent market share
  • OPPO - 7.1 percent market share
  • Xiaomi - 2.6 percent market share
  • Samsung - 2.4 percent market share

The reason behind this success from HUAWEI is its latest innovations in the foldable smartphone space, which include the "tri-fold" HUAWEI Mate XT Ultimate Design, regular book-style Mate X6, Pocket 2, nova Flip, and the unique Pura X.

OPPO grew a little, maybe because of its impressive Find N5, but HUAWEI is expected to continue its dominance in the Chinese foldable smartphone market if this trend continues.
