Last week, during our trip to Paris, France, I made the realme GT 7 Dream Edition my primary smartphone to thoroughly evaluate it for our review. |
A great phone for tourists with a long-lasting battery |
The actual battery life of the realme GT 7 Dream Edition (7,000mAh) is insane
One of my main goals is to test how good its new massive 7,000mAh next-gen silicon anode battery really is.
The result? Legit two-day battery experience as my main camera phone for touristy shots in the Sacred Heart Basilica, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Louvre Museum, to name a few.
Settings: Started at 100 percent battery, airplane mode, WiFi connected to travel hotspot device, Bluetooth on, and auto brightness.
Day 1 - Paris City tour
I started the day at 8:00 AM with 100 percent battery and left the hotel at 9:00 AM with 99 percent battery.
 |
91 percent at 12:47 PM, 64 percent at 4:32 PM |
It was our day tour day. I used the phone to take a lot of photos of the Sacred Heart Basilica and its neighborhood. We ended at 12:47 PM, and I still have 91 percent battery left.
My next check was at 2:10 PM when we roamed around near our hotel on a bridge to view the Eiffel Tower in all of its glory. Even after doing photoshoots with my friends, uploading content on GIZGUIDE, and scrolling through social media most of the time, I was left with 83 percent.
My next check is at 4:32 PM after we leave the Louvre Museum area to rest and eat snacks in a nearby restaurant. I am forcefully draining its battery by watching YouTube Shorts clips. By that time, the phone still had 64 percent battery.
 |
51 percent left at the end of the day |
By the time we got back to our hotel at 9:53 PM, I was left with 51 percent in the tank.
I took 356 items (mostly photos and a few 4K videos) at the end of the day.
This is wild.
Day 2 - realme GT 7 Series launch day
 |
Day 2 |
I used the phone as my primary camera to take event photos and a few videos during the realme GT 7 Series launch.
By 10:15 AM, I still have 34 percent battery left.
After that, I didn't use the phone much, so I switched back to my primary phone. But I still used it to take 147 items (photos and videos) by the end of the day.
In the end, I was left with 15 percent battery.
To drain the battery, I used the device to run some casual games. Based on my observation, it loses 1 to 2 percent of battery per 5 minutes, depending on how demanding the games are.
The next day, I was able to fill its 7,000mAh capacity in 45 minutes using its stock 120W power brick.
Our thoughts
The realme GT 7 Dream Edition delivers an impressive battery life, lasting two full days of moderate to heavy use during a Paris tour and a product launch event.
Its massive 7,000mAh next-gen silicon anode battery, coupled with smart power management, handled extensive photography, several 8K video clips, social media browsing, and even some gaming without quickly draining.
Charging efficiency is equally remarkable, taking just 45 minutes to fully replenish via the 120W SUPERVOOC fast charging system.
Furthermore, realme's thermal management system (IceSense Design) ensures sustained performance without overheating even after prolonged use, making this device a reliable companion for travelers and content creators alike.
Overall, realme's achievement is impressive, managing to integrate such a massive battery with excellent real-world performance into a sleek 8.6mm body.
