Even with the Magic V5 hitting the Chinese market, the HONOR Magic V3 proves it's still in the game—here are 7 reasons why.
HONOR Magic V3 top 7 highlights - Thinner, Tougher, and Smarter
The HONOR Magic V3 in the folding state

To recall, the HONOR Magic V3 is among the brand's thinnest foldable yet, measuring at just 4.35mm, with tougher construction, a 120Hz 2K 7.92-inch main OLED screen, and a 6.43-inch cover screen with FHD+ resolution.

It also sports 3.19GHz 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 12GB/512GB memory, 5,150mAh battery, 50MP OIS main camera + 40MP f/2.0 ultra-wide + 50MP telephoto sensor, OIS + LED flash.

7 top highlights of HONOR Magic V3

Super slim on both orientations

1. Premium ultra-slim design - HONOR Magic V3 is regarded as "one of the slimmest foldable" in the market both in 2024 and 2025, thanks to its 4.35mm (Black) or 4.4mm (Green) thin body during the unfolded state. In fact, it is so slim that its thickness is equivalent to 4 credit cards.

Meanwhile, in the folded state, the device measures around 9.2mm or 9.3mm, depending on the color, which is almost as thick as typical smartphones.

You can select between Green or Black options, while their back cover boasts glittery effects and a smooth finish. Additionally, it also weighs light for a foldable with 226 grams, suitable for a portable multimedia device.

2. Durable build - Don't get fooled by its slim appearance, as the Magic V3 is built to last. It features a special HONOR Super Steel Hinge with 2,100MPa of steel strength.

It can survive up to 500,000 folds, which is twice the number of what other competitors can offer, while the back cover features aerospace-grade fibers, making its impact resistance increase by 40 times.

Additionally, the phone features IPX8 water resistance, allowing the device to be dipped up to 2.5 meters of water depth.

The Magic V3 also features an Anti-scratch NanoCrystal shield, bringing 10x scratch or drop resistance. Even the displays are reinforced with Super Armor, making them 5x more wear-resistant thanks to the nanoscale anti-scratch coating and shock-absorbing silicon gel.

3. Still highly capable internals - As a booklet foldable device, the HONOR Magic V3 is equipped with a strong 3.32GHz Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 octa-core processor and is paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, 512GB storage, and a 5,150mAh battery with 66W HONOR SuperCharge.

The numbers above are fast and reliable, allowing users to multitask on the fold. It can handle multiple apps and Chrome tabs with ease, as well as when playing heavily popular games like Genshin Impact, Crystal of Atlan, and HONOR of Kings.

4. Great eye-care dual display - The HONOR Magic V3 features a 7.92-inch OLED panel with 2344 x 2156 resolution at 402 ppi. It also has 3,840MHz PWM dimming, DCI-P3 color gamut, and 5,000 nits peak brightness.

It also has a cover panel with a 6.43-inch OLED, 2376 x 1060 resolution at 402 ppi, 4320Hz PWM dimming, and 5,000 nits peak brightness.

Having a booklet foldable is like owning a standard-size phone; then you can transform it into a compact tablet in a few seconds. This will give you a bigger and richer visual experience, making it suitable for streaming videos, performing basic productivity tasks, and some games.

If you prefer a standard orientation, you can also go back to the cover screen and experience it like a traditional smartphone.

Additionally, both displays support HONOR AI Defocus, minimizing eye strain over prolonged use, either when gaming or doom-scrolling on social media.

5. Strong cameras with improved zoom - The HONOR Magic V3 boasts what it calls the Falcon Camera System. It comprises a 50MP f/1.6 1/1.56-inch large sensor + 40MP f/2.2 112-degree ultra-wide snapper with 2.5cm macro photography + 50MP f/3.0 3.5x periscope sensor.

Its cameras produce very good and crisp details, which we particularly liked in different scenarios ranging from indoor and outdoor. The colors and dynamic range were on point, plus the Studio Harcourt Portrait mode enabled us to add some creativity or drama when taking in our chosen subject.

For ultra-wide, it lets us capture scenic shots that definitely shine in well-lit conditions, though there are scenarios of reduced colors. So you'll have to do some editing to achieve your desired output.

The zoom produces fairly nice details thanks to the addition of a 3.5x periscope sensor. In fact, it can even reach up to 100x digital zoom, which allows us to take a shot of the moon at night.

For low light, you'd find visible noises, reduced image quality, and dynamic range in an ultra-wide scenario. It gets a little bit better once you notch up the focal length to 1x to 3.5x, giving you more details, better colors, and more desirable results.

You also get a clear picture quality when taking selfies from its 20MP snapper on both inner and outer displays, though it's nothing fancy like those from a proper flagship like the Magic 7 Pro.

6. Long battery life - The foldable uses a 3rd generation 5,150mAh Silicon-Carbon battery, which plays a role in maintaining large capacity without sacrificing the thinness of the device.

Additionally, the device also has an HONOR Power-enhanced chip and a power management system to help prolong the battery life. In our daily usage, it usually lasts around 8-10 hours of screen time.

That includes WiFi or data turned on, occasional gaming or streaming videos, social media, and web surfing.

For a foldable, this battery performance is a win.

7. Smarter AI and productivity tools - The HONOR Magic V3 foldable smartphone integrates advanced AI features to enhance user experience, including AI Eraser for seamless photo editing, Face-to-Face Translation for real-time multilingual communication, and HONOR Notes Live Translation for audio-to-text and multi-language note-taking.

Among our favorites is the AI Outpainting, which is capable of extending the image depending on the aspect ratio preferred by the user. We find it beneficial in situations where you need to edit an image quickly for use in our articles. It simply provides clean and relevant results with minimal retrials, thus improving our productivity on the go.

The Magic Portal enables intuitive multitasking by dragging content across apps, while AI Privacy Call 3.0 ensures clear, private conversations with noise cancellation. AI Motion Sensing Capture optimizes action photography, and Magic Text extracts text from images effortlessly.

Additionally, Google Circle to Search allows instant searches from on-screen content, and AI-driven app recommendations and sorting streamline interface navigation, making the Magic V3 a highly intelligent and versatile device.
