vivo Y500 launched: 8,200mAh battery, Dimensity 7300, and triple IP rating

After the teaser last week, the vivo Y500 goes official today with very large battery capacity.

Massive battery as a norm for 2025 and up

To recap, the vivo Y500 boasts a huge 8,200mAh battery making it 2K up higher than the previous generation. 

In terms of aesthetics, the phone comes with a design similar to the vivo X200 but with a less fancy camera island. Furthermore, it is available in Glacier Blue, Dragon Crystal Powder, and Black colorways.

vivo also highlighted its drop resistant durability along with the combined IP68/IP69/IP69+ rating for dust and water resistance.

The features

In front, the vivo Y500 features a 6.77-inch Diamond Shield glass protected AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 5,000 nits peak brightness.

The display

Powering the device is a 4nm Dimensity 7300 chip with Mali-G615 MC2 GPU, up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, 90W fast USB-C fast charging.

The vivo Y500 is also equipped with a 50MP f/1.8 main shooter + 2MP depth helper. While the front uses an 8MP for selfies or video calls.

Other features are stereo speakers with up to 700 percent volume boost.

Connectivity features are WiFi 6 (2.4GHz/5GHz), 5G, 4G VoLTE, GPS, NFC, and dual SIM.

For OS, the phone runs Android 15 with OriginOS 15 out of the box.

China price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

vivo Y500 8GB/128GB - CNY 1,399 (around PHP 11.2K)

vivo Y500 12GB/512GB - CNY 1,999 (around PHP 16K)

It is currently listed through vivo's China website. No word yet if this will arrive to other countries as of this writing.
