HONOR Unveils New AI-Centric Operating System and Ecosystem Strategy

During HONOR's inaugural Global Developer Conference in Shenzhen, the firm introduced an operating system the company describes as the world's first AI agent OS with self-evolving capabilities. 

The announcement positions the launch as a significant shift in the industry from traditional operating systems to AI-driven platforms.

Alongside the new OS, HONOR detailed its "1 x 3 x N" ecosystem strategy and an upgraded platform, now called HONOR AI Connect. The framework is designed to open HONOR's AI stack to global partners (the "1"), provide support through three tracks focused on ecosystem, channel, and technology and brand (the "3"), and scale across multiple industry clusters, including education, smart home, and wearables (the "N").

According to James Li, CEO of HONOR, a true AI OS must be "agentic" and possess self-evolving capability. The company stated it is focused on collaboration with users, partners, and developers to drive the evolution of its MagicOS.

Key features of MagicOS 10

The new OS is presented as a multi-dimensional leap from conventional systems, moving from device-cloud coordination to an agent-centric model. Its core is an upgraded YOYO assistant, powered by HONOR's proprietary MagicLM 3.0, which is designed to handle tasks like image editing, food ordering, and shopping through voice commands.

A key claim is its ability to break down platform boundaries, allowing for the transfer of images, videos, and documents across HONOR, iOS, Android, and Windows devices.

MagicOS 10 also introduces a new visual design, Zero-Gravity Transparency, which aims to deliver system-wide transparent effects without increased power consumption. For security, an enhanced AI Deepfake Detection feature is included to identify fake voices and scam scripts.

Expansion of the HONOR AI Connect Platform

The HONOR Connect platform, launched in 2022, has linked over 30 million devices. The newly upgraded HONOR AI Connect platform is intended to lower barriers for partner onboarding and reduce development costs by providing access to pre-built multimodal interaction capabilities.

HONOR reports partnerships with more than 200 ecosystem partners and has introduced programs to offer free IoT connectivity and provide partners with increased resources and store access.

HONOR X7d Durability details

Separately, the company highlighted the durability of its latest entry-level phone, the HONOR X7d. The device has received an SGS Premium Performance Certification for Drop & Crush Resistance, with a design that offers protection from drops of up to 1.8 meters.

It also features an IP65 rating for water resistance, protecting it against water spray and low-pressure jets. The phone includes a wet-hand touch enhancement for improved usability.
