HONOR 500 Series launching Globally soon

HONOR is bringing the 500 Series to international markets, making it a successor to the hot-selling 400 Series.

A worthy upgrade?

To recap, the series comprises the base version HONOR 500 and 500 Pro.

These smartphones feature premium-looking designs and internals. They remind us of the recently announced iPhone Air and Pixel 8's camera island.

Both devices feature a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5 2736 x 1264 resolution, and 6,000 nits peak brightness. Moreover, these panels have ultra-narrow bezels measuring at just 1.05mm, while they also feature an In-Display fingerprint scanner. The base variant has an optical sensor, while the Pro gets a more advanced ultrasonic sensor.

Additionally, they have a triple IP68/69/69K dust and water resistance rating for enhanced durability against dust, dirt, water dips, splashes, and even high-pressure water jets.

Inside, the HONOR 500 is equipped with a 4nm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, while the HONOR 500 Pro uses the stronger 4.21GHz 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

They also have 12GB/16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB internal storage.

Among their highlights are the 7.75mm thickness despite using a very large 8,000mAh battery, providing users a guaranteed 2-3 day juice on the go. To charge, HONOR ships them with a USB-C 80W SuperCharge adaptor.

For cameras, both devices have a 200MP f/1.9 AF primary sensor with OIS paired with a 12MP f/2.2 AF ultra-wide snapper with 2.5cm macro. But the Pro variant gets a more sophisticated 50MP f/2.4 3x portrait telephoto camera with OIS.

Other features are stereo speakers, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, GPS (L1+L5), and dual nano SIM slots.

Finally, both run the latest MagicOS 10.0 based on Android 16.

HONOR didnt clear say when they will be launching the HONOR 500 Series globally, but said we should expect it soon.

Previously, the HONOR 400 arrived last June in the Philippines, with the Pro model arriving a month after.

This time, it seem the successor will go official at a much earlier date, given that we're receiving a teaser already.

Lastly, HONOR Philippines hasnt mentioned if we will get the series alongside the Global release. We will update you once we hear from HONOR
