iQOO 15R launched: Snapdragon 8Gen 5, 7,600mAh battery, and 50MP Sony LYT-700V

iQOO has introduced the iQOO 15R, a new addition to its flagship lineup in India.

Positioned below the iQOO 15, the device emphasizes high-end performance, extended battery life, and ergonomic design. It is intended for users who depend on their smartphones for work, gaming, and entertainment.

The iQOO 15R is available in Dark Knight and Triumph Silver color options. The Dark Knight variant measures 7.9mm in thickness, while the Triumph Silver variant measures at a slimmer 8.1mm.

Additionally, it has an IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings.

In front, the phone features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED flat display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen offers up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness and 4,320Hz PWM dimming. The panel is also protected by Schott Xensation Alpha glass.

Inside, the device uses a 3.8GHz 3nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 octa-core chipset paired with 8GB/12GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 256GB/512GB UFS 4.1 storage. 

The device also includes the SuperComputing Chip Q2, which supports 144FPS gaming and 1.5K game super resolution. Thermal management is handled by a 6.5K IceCore VC cooling chamber and a dual-layer graphite sheet.

There's also a 7,600mAh silicon anode battery that powers the device. It supports 100W USB-C wired charging and includes bypass charging functionality.

The camera system includes a 50MP Sony LYT-700V main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) + 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. 

For selfies and video calls, there is a 32MP front camera. Furthermore, the device supports 4K video recording at 60fps with stabilization.

Connectivity options on the device include support for WiFi, 5G, 4G, Bluetooth 6.0, and GPS.

The iQOO 15R runs on OriginOS 6, based on Android 16. The company has committed to providing four years of operating system updates and six years of security patches.

The iQOO 15R is currently available in India. iQOO is not available in the Philippines, which means you'll have to obtain it through 3rd party means and with caution.
