PH HONOR X9d 5G variant receives MagicOS 10 update (Android 16)

The widely popular HONOR X9d 5G started receiving its first major OS update. From MagicOS 9 (Android 15), the device gets MagicOS 10 (Android 16).

To recap, the MagicOS 10 update brings a fresh visual style called Zero-Gravity Transparency, delivering system-wide transparent effects without extra power drain.

HONOR said that it also shifts from device-cloud coordination to an agent-centric model.

At its core is the upgraded YOYO assistant, powered by HONOR's MagicLM 3.0, capable of handling tasks like image editing, food ordering, and shopping via voice commands.

The company claims that it also enables seamless transfer of images, videos, and documents across HONOR, iOS, Android, and Windows devices

For security, it adds enhanced AI Deepfake Detection to spot fake voices and scam scripts.

Refreshed and more transparent UI design

Based on the change log, it has a more optimized Turbo X performance engine experience, more fluid animation, and more responsive typing.

Controls and notifications

Magic Capsule now integrates charging and screen recording for real-time status and quick access. Users can capture screenshots with floating windows, use AI-assisted screenshot recommendations, enjoy support for Android’s native dim mode, and benefit from a new voice search for faster, more convenient queries.

The camera interface has also been refreshed and is more customizable than ever; face recognition is integrated into Magic Capsure, and many more.

How to update HONOR X9d 5G to MagicOS 10?

• Select "Settings"
• Scroll down to "System & updates"
• Select "Software update"
• Press "Check for updates"

Note: Ensure your phone has at least 50% battery and is connected to a fast network. The device will restart once the update is complete.
