HUAWEI confirms Mate 80 Pro, Watch GT Runner 2 coming to PH in April

HUAWEI says it will release the Mate 80 Pro and Watch GT Runner 2 in the Philippines this coming April.

HUAWEI held its global product launch event, titled "Now is Your Run," in Madrid, Spain, to showcase its latest technological offerings.

Among the products presented was the HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro, marking the return of the brand's Mate series. The company also introduced the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2, a new model in its running watch lineup developed over five years.

Both devices are scheduled for release in the Philippines this April, according to the firm.

The HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro is positioned as the latest model in the returning Mate Series. HUAWEI notedthe device includes an AI-powered True-to-Color Camera designed to reproduce accurate colors in varied lighting conditions.

The phone's design features a Dual Space Ring aesthetic and incorporates 2nd Gen Kunlun Glass, along with IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance. It also includes a SuperCool Dual Phase Change Heat Dissipation system, intended to manage thermal output during high performance.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 is equipped with a 3D floating antenna architecture, designed for enhanced positioning accuracy. It also features an intelligent positioning algorithm that continues to calculate a runner's trajectory and distance during signal interruptions.

The device brings a new intelligent marathon mode that provides race management features, intended to assist both professional and amateur runners.

Two-time Olympic athlete Eliud Kipchoge, a global ambassador for the WATCH GT Runner, commented on his collaboration with the company. 

I am passionate to share my opinions and perspectives to improve the smartwatch experience not just for elite athletes but for runners all around the world, he said.

Again, these two products are set to be available in the Philippines in April. The Mate 80 Pro represents the first release in the flagship Mate series in two years. The previous version of the WATCH GT Runner was launched in 2021.
