Nothing Phone (4a) launched: Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, 50MP 3.5x periscope, Glyph Bar, PH listing spotted

Nothing just launched its newest smartphone line, the Nothing Phone (4a) Series.

Nothing Phone (4a) announced!

The vanilla Nothing Phone (4a) kept the bold and unique Nothing transparent design. But this time, it is made with a transparent polycarbonate shell at 8.55mm thin.

It also has a Glyph Bar with 63 LEDs lined up in 6 segments with up to 3,500 nits brightness and a Red recording LED indicator.

The phone comes with an IP64 dust and water resistance rating that can survive 25cm water submersion for 20 minutes. It is available in Black, White, Blue, and Pink.

In front, the handset uses a 6.78-inch Gorilla Glass 7i protected OLED screen w/ 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K 2720 x 1224 resolution, 4,500 nits, and an In-Display fingerprint sensor. It also has a top-center notch with a 32MP sensor.

Inside, it is powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 octa-core processor with Adreno GPU. It is paired with 8GB RAM/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage.

Keeping the phone running is a 5,080mAh battery capacity. This is lower than the Indian variant with 5,400mAh. It supports USB-C 50W fast wired charging. It supports 1,200 charging cycles before reaching 90% of its capacity, a claimed performance better than the standard 80%.

Back and front design of Nothing (4a)

Coming from its predecessor, the phone now has a better zoom camera. From just a 2x zoom, it is now equipped with a 50MP 3.5x periscope camera. This can do up to 70x digital "Ultra Zoom."

Then, Nothing paired it with a 50MP f/1.88 Samsung GN9 sensor with OIS and the same 8MP Sony IMX355 120-degree ultra-wide shooter.

This can record 1080p Ultra XDR or regular 4K 30fps videos without XDR colors.

The handset comes with Android 16 with Nothing OS 4.1 skin out of the box with "essential AI tools."

The new Nothing Phone 4a is now listed at the Nothing Philippines website with no local pricing yet. 

This indicates that the phone will be available in the country soon.
