Smart ends 2025 strong with ARPU lift, 5G surge

Smart rebounds in Q4 with higher ARPU and 5G adoption

This signals a strong turnaround in its wireless business after a softer performance earlier last year.

According to the company, Smart shifted its focus to value-led growth supported by targeted customer initiatives and sustained network investments. The rebound in performance followed a 2% revenue decline at the end of Q1 2025.

Smart’s Q4 gains were driven by higher Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) from personalized digital offers, with Smart Prepaid up 5% and TNT rising 3%.

This keeps the focus on the key drivers (ARPU growth + personalization) and the concrete numbers, while trimming away the extra detail.

Smart also recorded 606,079 net additions in the fourth quarter while maintaining churn at 2.5% by the end of 2025.

Meanwhile, network investments and expanding 5G adoption continued to support performance gains. In particular, Smart's network supported 11.2 million 5G-ready devices as of the end of 2025, a 35% increase year-on-year.

The company added that the greater availability of more affordable 5G smartphones accelerated adoption. It resulted in an 88% surge in 5G data traffic.

Fixed Wireless Access revenues also grew by 22% to PHP 1.8 billion for the full year. This growth reflects rising adoption of affordable 5G wireless routers.

5G usage and rising device penetration are also beginning to unlock new sources of data demand.

Smart also said that the company has further reinforced its network. As a result, it bagged the "Best Mobile Latency" recognition from Ookla based on data from H1 2025. This underscores faster, more responsive connectivity for everyday digital use—like streaming, gaming, calls, and payments.

Our 2025 results reflect solid progress in strengthening customer value while sustaining investments in network quality. We exited the year with improving momentum, positioning Smart for more sustainable growth moving forward, said Lloyd R. Manaloto, FVP and co-officer-in-charge of Smart.

As 5G adoption continues to scale, our focus remains on delivering reliable, high-quality connectivity for Filipinos while supporting the country's growing digital economy, said Marjorie C. Garrovillo, FVP and co-officer-in-charge of Smart.

Smart remains optimistic for 2026, backed by Q4 momentum, ongoing network investments, and expanding digital services.
