After our unboxing, the realme 16T finally launches in the Philippines with a massive battery and durable construction.

The design

All-star battery and toughness

The device features what the company calls a Gleaming Wings Design, incorporating shimmering, multi-colored particles on the back panel that catch light as it moves across the surface. 

It is available in three colorways: Aurora Green, Starlight Black, and Starlight Red. The phone measures 166.47 x 77.23 x 8.88mm and weighs 224g. It carries IP68 and IP69 Pro ratings for dust and water resistance, along with MIL-STD 810H certification for durability.

The display

In terms of display, it uses a 6.818-inch LCD (IPS) screen with HD+ 1570 x 720 resolution, 1200 nits peak brightness, 144Hz refresh rate, and 180Hz touch sampling rate.

Powering the realme 16T 5G is a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300 octa-core processor, paired with a 5,300mm² AirFlow vapor chamber for thermal management. The chipset is supported by 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, with microSD card expansion also available. The device uses a hybrid dual NanoSIM tray.

The phone is equipped with an 8,000mAh battery that supports 45W wired fast charging through a USB-C port. Realme states the battery is designed to retain its health for up to seven years of use.

The cameras and selfie mirror

On the back, the realme 16T 5G houses a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 1/2.93-inch Sony IMX852 sensor, accompanied by a 2MP f/2.4 monochrome sensor and an LED flash. 

The rear panel also includes a selfie mirror intended for quick self-portraits. Up front, the device carries a 16MP f/2.4 selfie camera built around a Sony IMX480 sensor.

Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a bottom-firing 1115 Ultra-Linear speaker.

For connectivity, the phone supports 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, and satellite positioning through GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS.

The realme 16T 5G ships with Android 16 and realme UI 7.0 out of the box.
