Faster models and hardware to make AI more helpful

Google has unveiled new developments at the I/O 2026, boosting efforts to make AI more helpful for everyone.

One of Google's latest breakthroughs is the Gemini Omni, its new model that can create anything from any input. This is built to make creating media as easy as having a conversation.

Gemini Omni Flash is first launching with video outputs in the Gemini app, Flow & YouTube.

There is also the Gemini 3.5 Flash that aims to deliver frontier-level intelligence at exceptional speed. What used to take days or weeks, 3.5 Flash can now complete in a fraction of the time, often at less than half the cost of other frontier models.

Google also introduced the biggest upgrade to the Google Search box in over 25 years, which is now completely reimagined with AI. This allows searching by dropping text, images, files, videos, or even Chrome tabs.

Intelligent eyewear is also coming, starting with audio glasses this fall. Powered by Android XR, these glasses are designed to give all-day help from Gemini spoken in the ear privately. Users stay hands-free and heads-up, for things like listening to music, taking photos, making calls, or tapping into your phone apps without reaching into your pocket.

Meanwhile, Daily Brief is Google's newest out-of-the-box agent that surfaces top priorities and suggests immediate next steps.

Gemini Spark functions as a 24/7, always-on assistant that can accomplish things, such as automatically parsing your credit card statements to flag new subscriptions.

Furthermore, Gemini is becoming more intuitive with Neural Expressive. This updated interface in the Gemini app now features fluid animations, vibrant colors, new typography, and haptic feedback throughout.

Google has introduced Google Antigravity 2.0, a new, standalone desktop application that acts as a central home for agent interaction. This allows multiple agents to execute tasks in parallel, such as having one agent code a website while another generates brand assets.
