Ensuring growth and maintaining quality
TCL, a manufacturer of televisions and air conditioning units, has launched the second batch of its technical training initiative in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). This year's curriculum focuses on the installation of domestic refrigeration and air-conditioning units and features an extended duration compared to the inaugural run.
The 2026 program shifts from the lecture-based format of its first iteration to a hybrid model that combines hands-on application with technical instruction, aimed at preparing trainees for work in the HVAC sector.
This second chapter of our training program marks a significant milestone in our mission to uplift Filipino talent. As we envisioned, this session provides aspiring technicians with the essential tools and practical experience they need to succeed in today's competitive landscape. By focusing on real-world skills and industry-standard technology, TCL is dedicated to transforming learners into professionals who will strengthen our workforce and lead the future of the industry, said Joseph Cernitchez, TCL Brand Manager.
The program is part of an ongoing partnership between TCL and TESDA, with TCL positioning the initiative as a direct pipeline between technical training and employment opportunities at authorized service centers nationwide.

TESDA Center Administrator Eugene P. Agcaoili noted the broader significance of the collaboration.
We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to TCL for partnering with RTC-NCR to make this training possible. This collaboration is a strong example of what public-private partnerships can achieve. Creating meaningful opportunities for skills development and contributing to the growth and competitiveness of the Filipino workforce, he said.
Program details
The second batch accommodated 25 trainees at the TCL-TESDA Center, located within the TESDA RTC-NCR facility. Over three days, the curriculum was divided into lecture and hands-on components covering installation, repair, and maintenance. Representatives from TCL's Product and Service teams participated in the sessions.
The training also included instruction on TCL-specific technology, such as the TCL Home App and Voice Command features. TCL partner and B2B dealer Firstar, represented by Pika Lee, attended the sessions and announced a learner profiling initiative held on the final day.

The third day served as an evaluation and mini job fair, designed to assess trainees and connect them with potential employers. The program concluded with a certificate awarding ceremony recognizing the participants' completion of the course.
At TCL, we are dedicated to investing in the people who keep the industry moving. It's been a privilege to support the upskilling of our Filipino technicians through this program. While this session has ended, our commitment has not—stay tuned for even more training opportunities as we continue to inspire greatness and build the future of technical excellence together," Cernitchez said.
