Telco hosts invite-only gatherings at restaurants owned by Platinum subscribers ahead of the phone's nationwide release

Globe Telecom's premium Platinum segment hosted private midnight events in three cities on the eve of the iPhone 18's nationwide release, offering selected customers an alternative to queuing at retail stores.

The company held simultaneous unboxing events in Manila, Cebu and Davao, where invited Platinum customers had dinner and then counted down to the delivery of their new phones. Globe said the events were built around a "Platinum for Platinum" concept, which paired customers with fellow Platinum subscribers whose businesses hosted the gatherings.

The plans available

In Cebu, the event was held at The Pig & Palm, a restaurant run by chef Jason Atherton, whom Globe describes as a Michelin-starred chef and Platinum subscriber. The Manila event took place at TAGLISH Seafood Steakhouse in Makati, owned by Michelin-starred chef and Platinum subscriber Frances Tariga. In Davao, guests were hosted at Mori & Mill, led by businessman and culinary innovator Anthony Ang, also a Platinum subscriber.

Guests were among the first to receive the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which Globe is offering through iPhone Forever, a program that allows customers to upgrade to the latest flagship iPhone each year.

Mark Pasaylo, Head of Globe Platinum Business, said the format responded to customer feedback.
