Remember the Honor V8 that was teased late last month? It was made official in China recently which carries most of the things that we wanted to see from Huawei's sub-brand, sharp and vivid QHD screen and a new type of dual camera setup that's different from what we saw with the Huawei P9 and Honor 6 Plus.

For starters, the Honor V8 is a phablet. This device features a 5.7 inch QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution screen which is the same with their Nexus 6P sans the AMOLED technology. Under the hood, this phone is a certified BEAST. It touts Huawei's home brewed Kirin 950 octa core processor, Mali T880 GPU, 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM, either 32 / 64 GB expandable to 128 GB ROM and 3,500 mAh of battery capacity that's rechargeable using USB Type C connection.

What makes this special it its unique dual camera setup. At the back, this phone is using two 12 MP cameras with one of them designed to take 360 degrees images. Aside from that, we can also expect better low light photography, faster HDR and sharper images.

In front, there's an 8 MP selfie camera, LTE, NFC, fingerprint scanners at the back and will have Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS w/ EMUI 4.1 on top. I'm expecting this to have most of the advanced features that I was able to play around with EMUI 4.1 especially in camera software part, that's much easier to use.

We'll message our contact from Huawei to ask if this device will arrive here in the Philippines as this is a very tempting device. If it will, let's expect them to name this differently as Huawei isn't using the Honor name in our country anymore.
