DJI, one of the leaders in the growing drone industry has released their latest creation, the Spark, the company's smallest and most affordable drone yet.

How? The DJI Spark is extra portable with the size of just a regular canned soda weighing less than 0.6 pounds and will retail for just USD 499.

But, being small and affordable doesn't mean that it isn't also capable.The company has managed to squeeze lots of powerful features into this tiny package.

First, the Spark can fly up to 16 minutes on a single charge, can be recharged via micro USB, has intelligent ActiveTrack and TapFly controls, and has several gesture controls. The drone also has sensors allowing it to dodge obstacles and can be controlled up to 2 kilometers away. The drone has a top speed of 50 kilometers per hour.

Camera-wise, it has a 12 MP main camera with two-axis gimbal which can capture up to 1080p videos. There's also a new QuickShot feature that lets the drone shoot one minute of footage and edit it to 10 seconds for sharing. 

The DJI Spark will be available for pre-order in alpine white, sky blue, meadow green, lava red, and sunrise yellow for just USD 499. Shipping is expected to start this June 15.

DJI will also sell an accessories package that includes a charging hub, propeller guards, an extra battery you can swap out from the Spark, a remote control, and more for an additional USD 200 soon.
