In addition, coming from its great performing Xperia XA1 and the Xperia XA1 Ultra siblings, this new Xperia XA1 Plus appears to the most impressive on paper.

Why? Even if it has mostly identical specs from its siblings, this device has several upgrades in battery performance and features.

Sounds promising right? Interested to know more? Read on!

Here are the top 5 highlights of Sony Xperia XA1 Plus

1. Expected speedy midrange grade performance - Like the rest of the XA1 series, the Xperia XA1 Plus boasts the speedy and power efficient 64-bit Helio P20 octa core processor that's clocked at 2.3GHz.

It even has the medium to high gaming grade Mali T880 graphics. Moreover, it is coupled with generous 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage thru a dedicated microSD card slot. This handset also has 5.5-inch full HD screen, LTE connectivity, and Nougat OS.

2. Should be better battery and charging performance - Among its siblings, the Xperia XA1 Plus has the biggest battery capacity at 3,430mAh among them all. It even has Qnovo Adaptive Charging and Quick Charge Pump Express+ 2.0 features.

If the Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra managed to perform decently in our battery tests despite their "small" battery capacity, imagine the battery performance that Xperia XA1 Plus w/ bigger mAh size can achieve.

3. Capable and high resolution cameras - We all know how good the 23MP cameras of Sony. The good news? The Xperia XA1 Plus has it too! This 23MP f/2.0 1/2.3 Inch Exmor RS sensor is even paired w/ Hybrid AF and Steady shot to ensure high quality point and shoot photos most of the time.

For selfies, it has the 8MP f/2.0 1/4 Inch Exmor R sensor that can shoot groufies w/ ease in pretty wide angle.

4. Fingerprint sensor - It's the only Xperia midrange phone to load w/ a fingerprint scanner for added personal security. You can find it on the power button at right like the higher-end Sony flagships.

5. Expected affordable price point - The regular XA1 is priced at PHP 14,990 while XA1 Ultra retails for PHP 21,990. This handset is expected to be priced somewhere in-between those prices.

Update: It is priced at just PHP 16,990!

If that's the case, we have a new midrange contender.
