However, we understand that some of the skeptics will need more proof or evidence as to why the Nova 2i is the best mid ranger so far. That is why we decided to curate a list of reasons why the Nova 2i is the mid ranger to beat.
Metal body

1. Premium Materials - The Huawei Nova 2i is a mid ranger with a premium build. When we say premium build then we mean is that it is made out of metal. Unlike some of its competitors who are made out of plastic, the Nova 2i gives you the premium feel that you only usually get around the PHP 20k price range. It feels good, looks good and ensures durability.

2. 5.9-inch 18:9 FullView FHD+ Display - The Nova 2i runs at 2160 x 1080 with an 18:9 FullView aspect ratio. At Full HD+! Unlike its competitors, it did not cut corners just to jump on the bezel-less craze. They did not lower the resolution but instead opted for a gorgeous 1080p display. You have to see it in person to really appreciate it but it is one of the best, if not the best, looking screen at this price point.

3. Real Quad Cameras w/ Impressive Bokeh Effect - Four camera setups are unheard of at this price range. Heck, even flagship premium phones do not have quad cameras and the Nova 2i is a mid ranger. It is also a real quad camera setup and not a gimmick. The cameras perform great especially when it comes to the bokeh game.

The bokeh effect is buttery smooth and does not look that artificial at all. Huawei even equipped this handset this w/ a robust camera software w/ a lot of modes!

4. Speedy Performance - The Nova 2i packs a lot under the hood especially considering the price. The high clock speed of the HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core processor at 2.36GHz with 4GB of RAM will definitely give you a fast and responsive experience. Add up the 64 GB internal storage and you have a feature packed phone. The fingerprint sensor is one of the fastest that we have used to date. The sleek and intuitive Android 7.0 Nougat w/ EMUI 5.1 skin could also be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo.

5. Stable Connectivity - The connectivity on the Nova 2i is really impressive. Telephony, GSM, call quality is great with no hiccups at all. WiFi signal strength is really good as we get strong signals all the time. The LTE connectivity could be better in terms of speed however stability is great as we get optimal speeds at home and while we are out and about.

There you have it. Those are 5 reasons why we think the Huawei Nova 2i is the mid ranger to beat. We always need to keep in mind that they are offering this smartphone for only PHP 14,990! The overall package of great specifications, great cameras and great display plus a premium build can easily make this smartphone's cost higher.

Fortunately, Huawei kept it as affordable as possible and thus we have the king of mid rangers to date.
