The companies has also carried out its first end-to-end data session using the 5G New Radio (5G NR) standard.

According to Mobile Europe's report, the trial reached a latency of 2.6ms. Moreover, the trial involved a 100MHz slice of spectrum in the 3.6 to 3.8GHz frequency band with spectral efficiency of 30b/s/Hz.

Huawei stated that it was about 10 times less than in the most advanced LTE networks. In addition, those results are seven times greater than advanced 4G technology.

The involved companies plan to deplot pre-standard 5G connecitivity in the 3.6GHz band in Bari and Matera Southern Italy. By the end of next year, they aim to provide 75 percent coverage in the areas.

By the start of 2020, they target to provide full coverage of 5G internet.

Here in PH, Huawei has partnered with local telco operators to conduct research and development on 5G and make the country 5G ready by 2020.

Exciting right?
