First off, the Vivo V11 has a more curvy look compared to OPPO F9's more flat design. In terms of looks, the Vivo V11 has the "starry night" gradient-design at the back while the OPPO F9 has their "petal-like" design.

In terms of build, they are similar. The V11 and F9 are made out of polycarbonate plastic. In terms of feel and ergonomics, we deem the V11's curvy design more comfortable to use.

In terms of battery, the OPPO F9 has a 3,500mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge while the Vivo V11 has a 3,400mAh battery with Dual Engine fast charging. The VOOC Flash Charge can supply two hours worth of talk time with just 5 minutes of charging. The Vivo V11 can be charged to full in just 1 hour and 15 minutes.

The Vivo V11 and OPPO F9 can reach up to 7-10 hours of battery life. We just hope that they ditch the micro USB port for USB Type-C.
Both phones also use AI for photography. The OPPO F9 has studio lighting for the main camera while the V11 implemented that for the selfie camera. For the main cameras, the AI can detect the scenes. In terms of video capture, both phones sport EIS but not OIS. The OPPO F9 can capture up to 1080p while the Vivo V11 can capture up to 4K but a bit more shaky. Overall, the Vivo V11 comes out on top in terms of the main cameras as it produces more vibrant and detailed photos.

Let's go to the cameras. The Vivo V11 has a dual main camera setup with 12MP + 5MP sensors with dual PDAF while the OPPO F9 has a 16MP + 2MP setup with PDAF. Both of these phones use their secondary sensors to gather depth information. This means that they can produce better bokeh effects on photos.

In terms of the sensors, it's a stalemate but the V11 edges out the F9 with its Dual PDAF technology. It can acquire and focus on the subject faster as well as distinguishing the subject from the foreground and background.

In terms of selfie, both phones sport a 25MP f/2.0 sensor with AI. In terms of features, both have AR stickers and their own version of AI beautification features. The Vivo V11 has a studio lighting feature. In terms of the AI beauty feature, both companies tout that their AI can identify multiple points on your face to adjust your selfie setting to produce a beautified yet natural looking photos.
In terms of audio quality, the Vivo V11 comes out deeper and richer. However, the OPPO F9 is not far behind.

Performance-wise, the F9 has a Helio P60 SoC which one of the best midrange SoC this year. The Vivo V11 has a smarter version of Snapdragon 660 with AIE. It can both play NBA, PUBG and other popular games with no problem. Both also has large 6GB RAM for multitasking and ample 64GB of expandable storage for your apps.

In terms of unique features, the ones that leave a mark for us is the OPPO F9's VOOC fast charging and the Vivo V11's In-Display fingerprint scanner which is faster than the X21's version.
They both have face unlock features that works even at lowlight. The V11 has the IR face unlock.

Let's talk about the display then, the Vivo V11 has a 6.41-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display while the OPPO F9 has a 6.3-inch FHD+ LTPS TFT display. Both sport an above 90 percent screen-to-body ratio with the F9 having 90.8 percent and the V11 with 91.26 percent. We are liking this development since the screen real estate is getting bigger while the notch is getting smaller.
The OPPO F9 has the waterdrop Notch while the Vivo V11 has the Halo Notch. Overall, we like the Vivo V11's Super AMOLED display with brighter display and more vibrant colors.

The Vivo V11 and OPPO F9 came out neck and neck in this comparison.
However, we feel that the V11 edged out the F9 in terms of the overall package.
We liked the simpler and more elegant design of the V11. They are tied in terms of real world performance. The display battle goes to V11's AMOLED display as well as photography performance.
