eSIM in PH!

Basically, it is a virtual embedded SIM that cannot be removed. It is designed to be the alternative to the physical, plastic SIM card for upcoming smartphones soon. It is available in few phones and some wearable devices.

It has an automatic activation without the need of physical SIM. It
also has digital management capability and automatic syncing feature to enable customers use and manage multiple devices.

This new technology is quite promising. The use of eSIM will also remove the use of plastics which could eventually help our environment.

Globe also announced that they are currently running tests with select eSIM-enabled devices such as iPhone Xs, Xs Max, and XR; Apple Watch and Huawei Watch. Before the year end, customers with eSIM devices can get QR cards at Globe Stores to scan and active their eSIMs.

Currently, eSIM is only available in 10 countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Singapore.

Globe also announced that the "budget" iPhone XR will be available this November.

Personally, the only device that I tested with eSIM is the CherryRoam.
