HMD Global releases official Android 9 update schedule for Nokia smartphones

Nokia owners waiting for the Android 9 Pie update will be happy to know that HMD Global released their official update schedule.

Coming after reports of HMD Global's roadmap, Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, shared more information about the updates. He posted an image containing the exact time frame of update roll outs for supported devices.

The update schedule

• Nokia 5 - January 2019
• Nokia 3.1 Plus - January 2019
• Nokia 6 - Q1 2019
• Nokia 5.1 - Q1 2019
• Nokia 3.1 - Q1 2019
• Nokia 2.1 - Q1 2019
• Nokia 3 - early Q2 2019
• Nokia 1 - early Q2 2019

you can see, two devices are going to receive the update this month. 4 is scheduled to receive it until March 2019 and the last 2 will receive starting on April 2019. HMD Global promised quick updates and they are sticking to their guns. This means that half way through the year, most Nokia devices are already on Android Pie. This is a great place to be before the announcement of Android Q in the near future.
