Globe extends Starlink Mobile in Japan

In partnership with KDDI Japan, the service lets Filipino travelers stay connected with messaging, navigation, and apps even in cellular dead zones.

Through GoRoam Japan, users can seamlessly switch between regular roaming and satellite coverage. Promos are available via GlobeOne and GCash, starting at PHP 400 for 7 days with 2GB all-access data, 1GB satellite data, and 50 satellite texts.

Extending Starlink into international access is the next step in Globe's connectivity journey, said Eric Tanbauco, Globe Consumer Mobile Head. KDDI customers visiting the Philippines can also tap Globe’s Starlink service, creating a two-way roaming experience.

To use the service, Globe customers need:

  • A compatible LTE/5G Android or HarmonyOS device
  • An active GoRoam Japan promo
  • Data roaming enabled
  • Clear sky view for best coverage

Starlink Mobile connects phones directly to satellites—no extra device required—delivering reliable coverage where traditional networks fall short.
