Qualcomm is reportedly exploring official DirectX 12 support on its Snapdragon chips, a move that could improve PC game emulation on Android devices.

The information comes from a Chinese YouTuber, who claims to have tested the feature on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 reference device. According to the report, the tester was able to run Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong using a translation layer in DirectX 12 mode.

If confirmed, official DirectX 12 support would simplify emulating PC games on Android hardware. 

However, several details remain unclear, including whether Qualcomm plans to extend the feature beyond its newest chipsets, and whether it would arrive as a driver update for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6—a decision that would likely rest with individual smartphone manufacturers.
