Energizer releases new phones with either waterdrop screen or pop-up cameras

Ahead of MWC 2019, Energizer announced a series of smartphones that will either have a waterdrop screen or pop-up cameras.

Energizer Ultimate U650S

The Ultimate series is the result of Energizer's partnership with Avenir. There will be 5 different model in this series named the U620S Pop, U630S Pop, U620S, U570S and U650S. The highlight here is the U620S Pop.

The Energizer Ultimate U620S Pop is touted to have a more premium build than the rest. It sports a 6.2-inch FHD+ screen that sports a full screen design. This is possible since it has a dual selfie pop-up camera mechanism that sports 16MP + 2 MP sensors. Inside, it will have a MediaTek Helio P70 processor, 6GB RAM, 128G of expandable storage. It  also has a triple camera setup at the back with a 16MP + 5MP + 2MP sensor combination. It also has a 3,200mAh battery with USB Type-C fast charge. The size of the battery is a bit underwhelming considering it is from Energizer, a battery brand.

The Ultimate U630S Pop is similar but has a 6.3-inch Full Screen HD+ screen, Helio P22. 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage and a bigger 3,500mAh battery. It has the same selfie camera mechanism as well. However, the rear camera setup only has a dual 16MP + 2MP setup.

There is the Energizer Ultimate U650S as well which is the biggest in the series. It has a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. It has a Helio P22 processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB expandable storage and a 3,500mAh battery with USB Type-C fast charging. It has a single 16MP selfie camera and dual 16MP + 2MP rear camera setup.

The Energizer Ultimate U620S has no pop-up camera. Instead, it has a 6.2-inch HD+ screen with a waterdrop notch. It has a MediaTek MT6765 processor. 4GB RAM, 64Gb expandable storage and a 4,000mAh battery. It also has a 16MP selfie camera and dual 16MP + 2MP rear cameras.

Lastly, the Energizer Ultimate U570S has a 5.7-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. It has a quad-core processor with a 32GB storage. It also has a 16MP selfie camera and a 16MP + 2MP rear camera setup.

Price and availability

The Energizer U620S Pop and the U620S are expected to hit the market on July while the U630S Pop will come out earlier on June.

The U650S is scheduled for an October release. The U570S is scheduled for April. Prices are yet to be announced though.
