The Envy x360 can be used in four configurations: laptop mode, stand mode, tent mode and tablet mode. Each mode is useful for different scenarios.  You can easily work on things through the traditional laptop mode with the track pad and a nice backlit keyboard keyboard. Stand mode is convenient for media consumption. Tent mode is more useful when it comes to small presentation in meetings while the tablet mode can help you do work on the go.

It's a versatile laptop with killer looks!

Inside, you will find a pretty capable spec sheet. In its core is either an AMD Ryzen 5 2500U or the Ryzen 7 2700U. It comes with either a Radeon 8 or Radeon 10 Vega GPU respectively. Both variants get 8GB of DDR4 SDRAM with 2400MHz clock speeds and a 256GB NVMe M.2 SSD.

Battery needs a bit of improvement though. The Ryzen 5 version only has up to 4 hours of battery life on a single charge in our test. The good thing is it has a universal USB-C charging that works with PD ready power banks.

Charging time using the default charger is 1 hour and 30 minutes from 0 to 100 percent. It'll only take you 45 minutes to reach the 50 percent mark.

Other features

It has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.2 support as well as Quad Bang & Olufsen speakers with HP Audio Boost discrete amp solution. For the size, it comes with one of the loudest and most impressive audio around. Yes, even for headphones.

The Envy x360 is priced at PHP 56,990 for the Ryzen 5/Radeon Vega 8 variant and PHP 63,990 for the Ryzen 7/Radeon Vega 10 variant. Both models have a 2-year warranty included and it comes in dark ash silver color.

Quick thoughts

For a convertible laptop, the Envy x360 is a pretty powerful device.

The AMD Ryzen series could be a good choice in terms of performance since the integrated Radeon Vega graphics solution are no joke.

It can do a lot of your daily creative needs such as photo editing, some video editing and graphics work.

However, in terms of gaming, there are some limitations. The Ryzen 5 version can get you decent performance on esports titles such as CS:GO and League of Legends but limited performance on AAA titles. The Ryzen 2700U variants can get you further in terms of gaming performance but not that much.

This can be a good work companion but not much of a gaming laptop alternative.

HP Envy x360 is available at HP concept stores and partner resellers in the country.
