It's a 48MP f/1.8 Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor with pixel binning technology that combines 4 pixels into one. The result is a 12MP output with better exposure, colors, and low light performance than most similarly priced camera phones.

It also has a secondary 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor. The cameras are also assisted with PDAF focus, EIS stabilization, LED flash, and AI auto scene optimization.
The result is you can enjoy decent shots even in low light.
But did you know that the Redmi Note 7 also has a special night mode that could even make your shots even look better in the dark?
It has a night mode similar to what you will find on higher-end Xiaomi phones. Basically, it'll shoot around 2 to 3 seconds of handheld yet stabilized long exposure shot. Yes, you read that right!
To test its night mode feature, we roamed around the streets of Hong Kong at night. Here are our shots!
Have a look at some our shots in Hong Kong captured using the Redmi Note 7's special night mode feature.

Quick thoughts
Redmi showed that it can make a phone that can helped you see the night better and clearer.
Compared with the AI-assisted auto mode, the shots that we got from the Redmi Note 7 at night have less noise and better details.
The image stacking tech of Redmi's night mode allowed us to take low light shots with great colors and good dynamic range.
It is not perfect and noise are still there, but there are very few phones that can compete with its night mode at this price point.
Sweet right?
